Westfield, NJ – Senator Tom Kean announced today that he raised over $500,000 during the first three months of his campaign for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
“I am humbled by the support I have received from so many families in North Jersey,” said Senator Kean. “Congress is headed in the wrong direction and it is time we send our New Jersey values to Washington, not accept Washington values in New Jersey. Thank you to all of you who believe in our mission. We have stood together through good times and bad, and if we continue to stand together we will take back the 7th Congressional District.”
Senator Tom Kean is the New Jersey Senate Republican Leader. His candidacy makes NJ-7 one of the most competitive races in the country in 2020. His long history of service to New Jersey gives him nearly universal name recognition, and he is a candidate with a proven fundraising ability. As a U.S. Senate candidate in 2006, Kean raised nearly $8 million.
Last week, the NRCC released the results of a survey that showed NJ-7 incumbent Tom Malinowski down by two points against against an ‘unnamed Republican’ challenger, most likely Senator Tom Kean.
Republicans hold a partisan registration advantage of over 5,000 voters in NJ-7.
