Westfield, NJ – Tonight, Republican voters in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional district resoundingly nominated Tom Kean to take on incumbent Congressman Tom Malinowski in November’s general election.
“Congress is broken and this fall, New Jersey has an opportunity to lead the way on fixing it,” said Senator Kean. “Our country needs to move past the partisan finger pointing and come together around solutions. I know what it takes to bring Republicans and Democrats together and find innovative ways to accomplish big goals like creating new economies and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. New Jersey deserves real leadership and a representative that understands their needs.”
Campaign Manager Theresa Winegar added, “The people of NJ-7 gave Tom Malinowski a chance, and he has failed them over and over again. Whether it is voting to kill thousands of local jobs or refusing to stand up to DC party bosses like Nancy Pelosi, Malinowski has proven to be little more than generic partisan representation. These communities deserve better, and that is why we must elect Tom Kean in November.”
Tom Kean is the New Jersey Senate Republican Leader. His campaign for Congress in NJ-7 has been rated a “toss up” by Politico.
