Westfield, NJ – The NRCC has added Tom Kean to the final phase of their “Young Guns” program. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy today announced an exclusive list of “Young Guns” candidates who have been elevated to the highest level of the program. “Young Guns” mentors and supports candidates in races across the country and works to provide them with the necessary tools to run successful, winning campaigns against their Democrat opponents.
“My friends, neighbors and constituents are being shortchanged by a broken and partisan system in Washington,” said Senator Tom Kean. “New Jersey needs to send a leader to Congress that will shake up the gridlock and actually put their communities at home before the marching orders of party bosses. Our message is resonating and I am proud to be recognized by a diverse coalition of supporters as a very serious candidate in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional district. Having the support of the NRCC elevates this campaign and I am thankful for their commitment to earning better representation for New Jersey.”
Campaign Manager Theresa Winegar added, “Congressman Malinowski needs to know that shelter in place doesn’t mean hide under your desk and wait for Speaker Pelosi to tell you what to do. Senator Kean is always a leader, especially when people need their government most. Right now we need a Congressional Representative that will find solutions to reignite our economy, fix our broken healthcare system and keep our families safe. That is why the NRCC is backing Tom Kean and that is why we will be successful in November.”
Tom Kean is the New Jersey Senate Republican Leader. His campaign for Congress in NJ-7 has been rated a “toss up” by Politico.
Last month CLF released a survey that showed Kean leading the incumbent Malinowski and then reserved $1.5 million in advertising in support of Kean.
